1) Sleep quality
- Tuck in with a good book an hour earlier than you would in the summer—that extra time will make a big difference
- Avoid screens a good hour before bed
- Sneak in naps. Yep, that’s right—naps are in!
2) Exercise*
- No bad weather, just bad clothing! Embrace the rain and get some fresh air!
- Plan on 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes of your favourite exercise
3) Antimicrobial Herbs*
- Oh, there are so many! Some personal favs are Elderberry, Echinacea, Oregano and Thyme
4) Nutrients*
- Vit D, definitely all year around for us Canucks!
- Vit C and zinc to stave off cold and flus
5) Nutrition
- Consume less carbohydrates, sugar and processed foods, bacteria love sugar!
- Load up on bright and dark coloured vegetables
- Garlic and onions in everything!
6) Stay hydrated
- Drink plenty of water. Squeeze in lemon or other citrus fruits for flavour and to load up on Vitamin C
- Treat yourself to immune boosting herbal teas like ginger, chamomile and calendula—delish!
