PHILOSOPHY
Maryam believes that your physical and mental wellness comes from being able to balance all aspects of life. By taking a proactive ”in charge” approach, one can make these lifestyle changes for themselves. She believes it will help to create a healthy and happy life that we all wish to achieve. “Life is not about finding yourself; life is about creating yourself.” (George Bernard Shaw)
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
She graduated with a Master’s degree in physical education with more than 13 years of experience as a physical educator. Maryam started her PhD in Sport Psychology in Malaysia in 2009 when she went on maternity leave. She became a certified kinesiologist and she became a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) in 2018.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
Maryam has more than 13 years of experience as a physical educator and has taught a variety of subjects such as Motor Learning, First Aid, Sports Nutrition, Posture alignment, and losing weight. Her specialty is in Active Health and Fitness, Injury Rehabilitation, and Exercise Therapy. She received additional training in Soft Tissue Release, Kinesio Taping, and Whiplash. She possesses strong supervisory skills with a hands-on mentoring leadership style.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Maryam is Persian who speaks Farsi and English. She has had an active lifestyle since childhood. In her youth, she played Basketball, Volleyball, and Tennis. She received a diploma in Mathematics. Because of her love of having an active lifestyle, she turned down being an Engineer and instead pursued her career in Physical Education. She immigrated to the North Shore, Canada with her son because the beauty reminded her of her hometown. She has established herself in a short time and continues a happy and active lifestyle with her son and clients.
