Educational Background
Chuck completed his Bachelor degree in 1979 at the University of British Columbia. His main interests in his undergrad years were philosophy, sociology and psychology. Following his graduation, Chuck attended the University of Calgary, obtaining his Master’s degree. Following his completion of his Master’s degree in 1981, Chuck immersed himself in the field of child and adolescent psychology and worked extensively in helping family’s to develop healthy and nurturing relationships. It was during this time he worked at a major facility, William Roper Hull Child and Family Services. In 1986, he returned to the University of Calgary to obtain his doctoral degree, which he attained in 1991. Since that time, he has returned to the west coast to resume his professional career.
Areas of Practice
For the last 20 years, Chuck has devoted his clinical practice in the areas of clinical and rehabilitation psychology. Chuck practices in the areas of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, relationship problems, and life transitions. Chuck relies on different therapeutic modalities with cognitive behavioral and cognitive therapy continuing to be his main stay.
Personal History
Chuck was born in Hong Kong and arrived to Canada as an infant. He lived in different areas of Vancouver and now resides in Burnaby. Chuck is an avid sports enthusiast, playing many years of rugby in British Columbia and Calgary and he continues to play old boys rugby. Other hobbies include: fishing, photography, gardening and cooking.
